Ahsoka season 2 is currently filming, so there's not long to wait until we return to Peridea. This next season was a total mystery for a long time, but luckily for all of us, we learned plenty at at Star Wars Celebration 2025 thanks to creator Dave Filoni.
Below, we've rounded up absolutely everything there is to know about Ahsoka season 2, from when we might see it on our screens to the rundown on all the news that was unveiled at Celebration. Ahsoka season 2 release date speculation
Ahsoka season 2 doesn't yet have a release date. It's now in production, though, as Rosario Dawson confirmed with a behind the scenes picture on her Instagram.
No release window was revealed during Star Wars Celebration, but it's looking likely that we can expect the Ahsoka season 2 release date to fall in 2026.
Ahsoka season 2 plot
Ahsoka ended with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren stranded in Peridea, while Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger both made it home to the main Star Wars galaxy. In the final moments of the season, we see Anakin Skywalker watching over Ahsoka and Sabine with a smile.
Filoni shared the first piece of concept art back in early 2024, providing some more clues. Baylan Skoll was last seen on a giant statue of the Father, a Force god representing the balance who was killed in The Clone Wars (read our World Between Worlds explainer for a full explanation). It would seem Baylan is seeking a great power, and the first piece of concept art for the new season shows Ahsoka and Sabine on the same statue, which is pointing into the distance.
Could Baylan be seeking the power of the World Between Worlds? One thing we do know for sure is that the Mortis gods will factor into the Ahsoka season 2 plot. "It's a big mystery," Filoni teased of the statues on Peridea at Star Wars Celebration. "The Son's there, the Father's there, most of the Daughter's there. So yeah, we'll figure it out. It's a good story."
Game of Thrones star Rory McCann will be taking over from the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, which means his story definitely isn't over yet.
Also at Star Wars Celebration, Hayden Christensen confirmed he'll return as Anakin Skywalker, so we know Skyguy will factor into the plot so far.
Plus, Filoni revealed that Admiral Ackbar will appear in the new season, and he'll be facing off against Thrawn. Expect an epic naval battle from two of Star Wars's greatest strategists.
Thanks to a teaser trailer Filoni patched together from concept art and a retro voiceover, we also know that Sabine and Ahsoka will be battling giant evil droids, while battles will take place across two galaxies, and she'll eventually have another showdown with Baylan.
Ahsoka season 2 trailer: when might we get one?
There's no trailer for Ahsoka season 2 just yet, since we're still a long way away from the new episodes releasing. But, a teaser trailer made from concept art and a retro-style voiceover was played for those in attendance at Star Wars Celebration 2025. Filoni explained that he was inspired by a similar trailer for The Empire Strikes Back, which was shown before George Lucas had filmed any of the sequel movie – since, at the time, Ahsoka season 2 hadn't begun shooting, either.
The trailer was brief, but it showed Ahsoka and Sabine battling giant evil droids, Ezra Bridger running in a flight suit, and plenty of Grand Admiral Thrawn, as well as a showdown between Ahsoka and Baylan Skoll. It's unclear if this one will ever be released to the public, or if it was a special treat just for those in attendance at Celebration.
Ahsoka season 2 cast
Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson are confirmed for the cast of Ahsoka season 2. Sadly, Ray Stevenson, who played Baylan Skoll in season 1, died in 2023. He's being replaced by Game of Thrones star Rory McCann for season 2.
Zeb, from Rebels, will show up at some point, but it's unknown just yet who'll be portraying him. Some other stars, including David Tennant, who plays Huyang, remain unconfirmed at present.

How many episodes of Ahsoka season 2 are likely?
Nothing is confirmed just yet, but we expect the Ahsoka season 2 episode count to be the same as season 1 – eight episodes. That's also the same as all three seasons of The Mandalorian.
Where to watch Ahsoka season 2
The only place to watch Ahsoka season 2 is Disney Plus, and, for that, you'll need a subscription. The streamer is the home of all the Star Wars shows and movies, so you can get caught up on the rest of the saga, too.
However, season 1 is being released physically – so we can probably expect season 2 to eventually get a physical release, too.
